When relying on a structure for safety or building a durable construction, the last thing you want is for your walls to come down. Parallel walls are essential for creating barriers and protection. Wind, water, settling foundations, and gravity pose natural challenges to parallel wall structures, where concrete form ties can be a game-changer.
Browse our selection of concrete ties (flat ties, snap ties, loop ties, cone ties, drill ties, etc.) and accessories below for your next concrete wall-forming project!
Concrete ties, also called snap ties, form ties, wall ties, or brick ties, create parallel walls while leaving a cavity in between. These small metal pieces work like thread, holding the walls together and acting as spacers to keep them apart.
Discount Contractor Supply is your one-stop shop for form tie needs.
Concrete wall ties are helpful for four primary reasons.
First, these ties allow for in-plane movement, which occurs between parallel walls, such as movement of filler between panels, concrete, or insulation.
Second, concrete wall ties combat differential movement, preventing uneven settling of walls or structures.
Third, they provide a connection, facilitating in-plane movement and combating differential movement.
Fourth, concrete wall ties transfer weight burdens laterally.
Concrete wall ties come in various shapes, sizes, and constructions, generally made of two parts: the internal tension portion and the external holding portion.
The concrete wall ties are available in two general styles: continuous single member and internal disconnecting style. At Discount Contractor Supply, we provide a variety of continuous single member ties.
