You know when it comes to concrete – things do not always go smoothly at first, but that is why troweling exists. When you undertake your next troweling job, look no further than Discount Contractor Supply for all of your troweling needs.
Read MoreTroweling is the basic process of smoothing freshly poured concrete. Various sizes of trowels are necessary based upon the project you are undertaking, and with more than 20 varieties of concrete hand trowels, we have what you need to get your task done smoothly.
Concrete trowels are typically made of high carbon steel, tempered spring steel, Aluminum alloy, or stainless steel. The best concrete hand trowels are slightly flexible to ensure the best quality application, but also tough to avoid breaking under tension of heavy concrete and applied pressure during use.
Depending on the size of your project area, you will need a variety of trowel sizes. We recommend you have an assortment of concrete trowels on hand to ensure you can handle any angle. Discount Contractor Supply offers sizes from 3” x 14” to 5” x 20” hand trowels.
Trowels come in many shapes and sizes. One factor you will want to consider before purchasing concrete trowels is whether you want to use square end or round end trowels. Each of these shapes has its own special use, but depending on your experience level, this one factor could save you a lot of time.
A square end trowel is ideal for corners on your floor, wall, or ceiling, because the right angle easily permits you to smooth concrete into the right angle of your surface. If you are new to troweling, you may grow frustrated with the square end because it is more likely to leave creases or grooves in your concrete project.
The full round end concrete trowel permits easier wrist manipulation and the rounded edges are far less likely to create the lumps or grooves as you trowel. However, the rounded end will not easily permit you to smooth concrete into corners. This can be easily remedied by use of a margin trowel.
We also provide a single round end trowel with a square end on one side and a round end on the other.
The Fresno trowel is designed to reach distances that are further away from the trawler. The Fresno accomplishes this by attaching to a bull float handle. This combination permits troweling a floor from six feet away without exposing the trawler to the slippery or tacky portion of the project that has already been troweled.
At Discount Contractor Supply, we provide a 30” square Fresno trowel and a 36” round Fresno trowel. We also offer the adapter screws and push buttons to attach your Fresno trowel to the bull float handle. We provide all of this for you in one easy location.
After you have selected an assortment of concrete trowels, you may also want to check out our padded kneeboards with slider pans to protect you and your project.
